TRON: Daft Punk's new album/film!

Title: Tron: Legacy
Directed by: Josh Kosinski
Written by: Edward Kitsis; Adam Horowitz
Starring: Jeff Bridges; Garrett Hedlund; Olivia Wilde; Bruce Boxleitner

TRON watches and reads like a 13 year old aspirant Hackers wet dream, which isn’t a bad thing, but not a great thing either. The film carries on where the original ended, super programmer extraordinaire Kevin Flynn disappeared 20 years ago and in his absence his son Sam Flynn has grown into a a mischievous billionaire adult who plays massive pranks on the world’s largest computer company ENCOM. In search of his missing father, Sam stumbles upon a page from his old man which sees him transported into the lumo cyber world of TRON where he must battle a series of programs and Clu in search of his father. It’s filled with some pretty average CGI and 3D effects to be honest and highlights how this new trend is becoming somewhat of a 1-trick pony effect. Which doesn’t add much to films outside of the odd “Yoh…”. The entire film is scored by French mega electric duo “Daft Punk” which makes the film a wee bit more digestible, but doesn’t really do much but leave you wondering why the hell you’re watching the world’s longest music video.

It won’t cause an epileptic fit and it won’t cure erectile dysfunction, but it is something to stare at and bob your head to.

I give it 6 Hoers
